Hi,
I was having some wierd issues with my gpu and i am not sure if it just about to die from old age or if i could have a worse problem at hand. Last monday my pc bricked and the screen artifacted and turned 8 bit orange so i figured the card was dead, but when she had problems rebooting with onboard until i switched to hdmi output. Okay no big deal I am not the best with PCs but i know there are times when things do not make any sense but somehow magically decide to work and i cannot explain why.
My issue that i am questioning is trying to figure what the culprit is behind this. The PSU is an evga 750 supernova G2 80 gold bought last june, the GPU is one of the beta Asus 7970's from 2010 if i remember right, or the last possibility is a dirty outlet. I thought it was entirely the GPU being used and abused for years until i noticed in event viewer that the amdkmdap crashed a few times over the last few months but recovered everytime and when i read on some other forums that low voltage/power could be the culprit also but the card is not OC'd to my knowledge at all. What is a baseline for testing that you guys would start at to try and figure out whats going on here?
Please Help.
Thanks!
